Students ages 10 to 17 can get a hands-on introduction to the world of flight during a two-day aviation camp at the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport.

The two-day aviation camp includes an hour to hour-and-a-half of flight time in a Cessna 172 aircraft, depending on weather conditions. Each participant will also engage in hands-on learning activities focused on aeronautics, navigation, and flight simulation, along with behind-the-scenes tours of the airport control tower and fire station.

A hands-on introduction to the world of aviation for local youth. Hosted in partnership with the Hancock County Experimental Aircraft Association, the event gives kids the unforgettable opportunity to fly in an airplane for the very first time. It’s a completely free experience, made possible through the generosity of regional pilots and OWB, which provides the fuel. For many children, it’s not only their first flight — it’s their first time inside an airport or near a plane. Seeing their faces light up as they take to the skies is what this event is all about. We look forward to sharing the wonder of flight with the next generation of aviators!
